About This Piece

Vintage Design

A few extraordinary globes, Columbus duo earth globe and columbus-himmel globe, from the 50s/60s.
These two globes are the smallest very rare execution of the illuminated globes from this time.
The base are made of wood with a chrome -plated disc. An interesting detail is that the globes are reflected in the chrome -plated slice.
The balls are hand -laminated from oral glass, the meridian is made of aluminum.
Both globes are illuminated and have a version E14.
The earth globe (duo globe) has an alternating picture and shows the geographical and in the illuminated state without lighting.
The height is 26 cm, the diameter of the glass ball 17 cm and the diameter of the base 13 cm.
