Vintage Design

Magnificent and ultra rare Art Deco Modernist game table. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid walnut base with original black faux leather top. Four original pull-out shelves with original macassar ebony handles. In very good refinished condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco game tableis also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
