Excellent piece of Viennese Bronze Art around 1920 Cowboy in typical work clothes - shirt, baggy pants, bandana and cowboy hat - on bucking horse, holding in one hand the lasso attached to saddle and twirling high above the horse's head, the reins in the other. Figure, bridle and saddle painted in color, the animal's two hind hooves screwed to an oval plinth, signature 'C.Kauba' on the top of the base behind the horse. Excellent and detailed quality of the composition, very lifelike representation, as is typical for Viennese bronze art. Designed by Carl Kauba (1865 - 1922) an Austrian sculptor and small plastic artist and important representative of the Viennese bronzes. with his depictions of cowboys and Indians, he manufactured and exported for the American market in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Designed and made circa 1920 Bronze modeling, casting, patinated and cold painted Dimensions: height: 21.0 cm / 8.26 in width: 18.0 cm / 7.08 in depth: 10.0 cm / 3.93 in weight: 2220 grams / 78.14 oz / 71.38 troy oz very well maintained - age-related signs of wear.
