About This Piece

Vintage Design

Produced in Jiangxi, a southeast Chinese province during the later part of the Qing dynasty, this large rectangular panel was once an internal window panel in a Chinese home.
The intricate scrolling pattern with flowers also incorporates a central carved floral motif that has been beautifully carved from camphor wood. Quite unusually, this large panel has a simple lattice section at the bottom, adding an additional decorative element.
Today it would make a lovely decorative architectural feature in a modern home.
