Italian Bud Table Lamps on Cylindrical Ceramic Bases from Guzzini, 1968, Set of 2

Italian design doesn’t get better than the work of Harvey Guzzini. This stunning example of the designer’s work sat atop cylindrical ceramic bases embodies the sleek space age styling of Guzzini’s Work.

The light shades are synonymous with Guzzini, their smooth round Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene that’s heated to a pliable level and poured onto a mould and then finished with a stunning chrome fitting at the base of the shade. Being used in world renowned spaces and featured in Bond films since their conception these are iconography in a lamp!

The bases are hand crafted solid ceramic with a high gloss maroon finish. Their circular shape and highly polished finish compliment the silken finish of the shades.

Harvey Creazioni was originally founded in 1959 in Recanti (on the east central coast of Italy) by Raimondo, focusing on the production of copper-plated decorative objects. Four years later, in June 1963, the six brothers joined together and established Harvey Creazioni di Guzzini, expanding production to include pendant lighting, sconces, and lamps, floor lamps. The brothers employed architect-designer Luigi Massoni—who was introduced to the Guzzini brothers by leading plastic importer Maurizio Adreani—as head of design, branding, public relations, and advertizing.

Condition Report:

Excellent condition, this pair have been looked after immensely well, in PAT tested fully working condition with their switches working, the shades are spotless and bright with their original chrome galleries, the ceramic bases are polished, unscratched or chipped. Some small marks commensurate with age.
