Grand bronze à patine brune signé Edouard Drouot (1859-1945).
Ce sculpteur français est connu pour ses sculptures de scènes mythiques qui se caractérisent par un sens du mouvement et une touche expressive impressionnante.
« Allégorie de la poésie » est une œuvre inspirée des sculptures de l’antiquité mettant en scène un homme dénudé vêtu d’une peau de bête et de spartiates. Un foulard emprisonne ses cheveux bouclés mettant en valeur son visage grave dont les yeux baissés sont fixés sur une large tablette ornée d’une couronne de lauriers. Dans sa main droite, il tient un stylet. Son bras levé semble prendre de l’élan. Sa posture est altière et son corps musculeux.
Cet important bronze d’Edouard Drouot vous ravira par son charisme et sa belle patine.
