Despina is a collection of works, each unique and original, born from from an idea from TAC Laboratory and from aesthetic research on the intimate nature of metals: steel, copper, brass, bronze, and iron experimented through various processing techniques and color combinations.
Iron is a living material, it protects itself from atmospheric agents by oxidizing and takes on dark and uneven tones (polychromy).
'When the outer skin is opened, the inner soul appears, a metaphor for a wound that cannot be healed.'
This coat rack was made by bending the front bands of the sheets over an open flame, coated by hand and finished with thermosetting powder coating. It is made of burnished iron and mirror polished stainless steel.
