This is a truly very high-quality piece, the timber cuts of flamed mahogany are exquisite, honestly sublime, they glow in any light This is a gallery perfect piece now, the table has been restored with a view to accentuate the original patination an or repairs with a view to not hiding the honest age. Directoire style describes a period in the decorative arts, fashion, and especially furniture design concurrent with the post-Revolution French Directory. The style uses Neoclassical architectural forms, minimal carving, planar expanses of highly grained veneers, and applied decorative painting.
