Vintage Design

An exceptional and rare set of eight "Torcello" dining chairs, designed by the renowned architects Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Stildomus in 1964. This lot represents a perfect example of the refined and essential Italian modernism of the 1960s, combining formal innovation with the excellence of fine cabinetmaking.

The chairs feature a solid, geometric frame in fine walnut, characterized by clean paneling and the typical joints of the Torcello series, conceived to enhance the purity of the wood. The wide seats and imposing, high, wing-shaped backrests are upholstered in original burgundy/Cartier red leather, giving the set an extraordinarily elegant presence and enveloping comfort.
