Vintage Design

This great mid-century elephant-shaped coffee table / side table dates from the 1960s and was made from a delicate rattan weave with wooden tusks by Vivai Del Sud in Italy.
It has a removable tray (D 40 cm x W 60 cm) and a wooden substructure that makes it very stable.

Vivai Del Sud and Arpex were the leading design studios in 1960s/1970s Italy that specialized in this high-end tropical glam style.

Very good vintage condition with slight signs of wear typical of its age.
