Exceptional, mid-century, vintage, rattan & bamboo pendant lamp with curved, rattan waves and frame, attributed to Italian designer Franco Albini, circa 1960’s.
The structure of the shade, resembles the form of a flying saucer and the bent, rattan “loops”, resemble waves that are woven seamlessly around both the top and bottom of the structure. On the top ring, just below the rattan chain, are three bentwood forms that curl into loops resembling upside down commas.
This beautiful, vintage piece, remains in excellent original condition, as it was well-cared for over the years.
- Very minor traces of age and use, commensurate with time.
- Patina of time commensurate with age and time.
- Extremely easy to mount and emits a nice, warm glow when lit.
- Lamp has been gently dusted and oiled to preserve the original condition, superb patina and rich colors.
- It has been rewired and also has a new socket, been tested and functions perfectly with a small, B22 type, flame- shaped bayonet light bulb (not included.)
Whether used in a bedroom, entryway, small nook, living room, den, on a patio, et al, this wonderful retro lamp is the perfect accent piece to compliment a mid-century, retro-bohemian or rustic- contemporary setting.
