About This Piece

Vintage Design

Solid oak sideboard attributed to Danish designer Henning Kjærnulf, produced in Denmark during the 1960s. The piece is characterized by its strong, architectural expression and pronounced use of solid oak, giving it a clear brutalist influence typical of Scandinavian furniture from the period.

The sideboard features four paneled doors with carved details and decorative brass hardware, opening to spacious storage compartments with fixed shelves. Below the doors are two wide drawers, offering additional practical storage. The cabinet rests on turned solid oak legs, connected by a lower stretcher, contributing to both visual balance and structural stability.

Fine craftsmanship is evident throughout, particularly in the carved edges, paneled fronts, and detailed molding along the lower apron and top edges. The rich oak grain is beautifully preserved and enhances the sculptural quality of the design.
