Vintage Chandelier in Gold Leaf and Transparent, 1980s

Large Ca Rezzonico chandelier. All made from clear glass with 24 karat gold leaf embedded in the glass. The use of gold leaf highlights and gives preciousness to the chandelier. This chandelier features two prominent elements: the first is a row of glass spheres that move from arm to arm. These pearl garlands are repeated here and there on the structure of the chandelier. The other is the use of S and C elements, called Pastorals in Rigadino. The purpose is to capture and reflect light. The structure has 9 arms and the 3 stems called tie rods each hold 2 staggered triumphs with croziers, lanterns and leaves. Great triumph that is part of the good execution of a Rezzonico. The cage formed by the three stems leaves a space in the center which is used for a baroque construction. Since the 3 stems are lengthened to allow for the two trumps, the central trump has been raised. The result is simply beautiful. Look at the photos to discover all the details. Cesare Toso was one of the most important protagonists of Murano in the last part of the 20th century. For those arriving in Murano, its furnace is now marked by a fallen wall which testifies to the abandonment of the factory.
