Maastricht Uranium Shallow Glass Manuvaria Craquele Bowl.Large 40cm glass Manuvaria craquele bowl from the Kristalunie Maastricht Glassworks in Holland.Designed by W.J. Rozendaal (Dutch, 1899-1971)Estimated to be from the 1930''s as uranium was regulated just before the 2nd World War. A similar piece in the Glascollectie Centre Céramique, Maastricht has a date of 1932.Stunning example of both the glassworks and the designers work.Last few pictures show the glow from an ultraviolet light to prove the presence of uranium oxide in the glass.NOTE: the radiation from this glass bowl is no worse than background radiation!! Dimensions: 40cm diameter Weight: 2.5 kg Condition: A couple of small bubbles but otherwise excellent.
