Designed by Paris-based Robert Stadler, this bookshelf responds to a well-known dilemma: Our books pile up in our homes because we just don’t have—or make—the time to read them. Transitory Bookshelf responds to this problem by combining two sloping platforms. The first section (labeled "read!") reminds us that we should take the time to read; the second (labeled "read.") helps us to further contemplate and digest recently read books before they blend into our main bookshelves. Made of aluminum composite, this object is manufactured using a single-step digital cutting and engraving process. Once folded and glued, it is perfectly rigid.
