A fascinating example of Venetian craftsmanship, this mushroom lamp is hand-blown from fine Murano glass with a spiral pattern. The swirl decoration, obtained through a refined twisting technique of milky white glass, gives dynamism and softness to the shape, enhancing its elegance even with the light off. A timeless object, capable of embellishing any environment with discreet refinement.
The term "swirl" refers to the decorative spiral pattern that runs across the surface of the glass. In the case of Murano swirl, this effect is obtained by blowing and rotating the glass during processing, so that the colored threads wrap themselves in a helix along the shape of the object. It is a technique widely used in vintage lamps from the 1960s and 1970s produced in Murano, especially in the "mushroom" models, and is highly appreciated for its visual elegance and artisanal complexity.
