About This Piece

Vintage Design

Very rare “Super Lounge” sectional sofa by Hans Hopfer for Roche Bobois. This model is very similar to the Mah Jong sectional sofa by Hans Hopfer but much rarer. A Sculptural Icon of Modular Freedom Experience the art of living with the Super Lounge, a rare and visionary creation from celebrated designer Hans Hopfer for Roche Bobois. Born from Hopfer’s groundbreaking approach to relaxed, informal seating, the Super Lounge transforms the living room into a dynamic, creative playground. Crafted from a series of generously padded, free-floating modules, the Super Lounge invites you to design your own comfort. Arrange, stack, or scatter its components to suit your mood, your space, and your lifestyle—from intimate lounging nooks to expansive social seating. Each element is cushioned for enveloping softness, offering a luxurious low-to-the-floor experience that is as inviting as it is iconic. The Super Lounge embodies the spirit of the 1970s–80s design revolution: bold, playful, and effortlessly modern. Its sculptural silhouettes, plush upholstery, and endless configurations bring energy and personality to any interior.
