Anastassiades Two Ways
While in London, Tatjana and I visited Michael Anastassiades' house/showroom where he was showing his new lighting for Flos.
Meanwhile, in Berlin, Anastassiades' work is also on display at the fantastic Andreas Murkudis concept store. Anna and Kevin visited the massive, all-white space, which formerly hosted the Tagesspiegel newspaper, and is now home to an eclectic combination of beautiful clothing and pieces by everyone from Martin Margiela to Nymphemburg. This month, the store has added another beautiful layer in the form of Anastassiades's dramatic lighting, mirrors, and table top objects. The pieces on display include kinetic, mobile-like lights; reflective, pooling glass that seems to freeze, mid-air, as if part of a Salvador Dali painting had been brought to life; and Notch, a daring, dangling, yet perfectly balanced light that elegantly dominated the shop's main room.
