Vintage Design

Designed by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti in the 1970s, the Wave / Onda lounge chair is a clear example of well-engineered Italian design, built to last, and conceived with both comfort and structural integrity in mind. Every aspect of the piece reflects a balance between technical precision and aesthetic clarity.

The supporting frame is made of chrome-plated steel, shaped with clean, ergonomic curves to provide solid yet flexible support. The chair has undergone a careful conservative restoration and has been newly upholstered in a high-quality "lobster-orange bouclé fabric", chosen for its texture, warmth, and durability. The cushions are removable and proportioned for everyday use, maintaining the original spirit of the design.

The Saporiti maker’s mark is still present, confirming the authenticity and provenance of the piece. Minor oxidation is visible on parts of the chrome, a natural patina that not only testifies to the age and originality of the piece but also adds that quietly elegant character sought after by collectors of historical design.
