Royal Delft Blue, White, and Green Chinoiserie Bird Table Lamp, 1979

Royal Delft blue and white hand-painted chinoiserie table lamp, 1979, from De Porceleyne Fles — the Netherlands' oldest surviving Delft pottery. Offered with a new custom drum shade in fine green-and-white pinstripe fabric with solid green trim, fitted with a US plug or international plug of your choice; height as listed includes the lampshade.

The earthenware base carries a hallmark Chinoiserie composition: a long-tailed exotic bird perched among large peony blooms and trailing foliage, all rendered in rich cobalt blue against a luminous white ground. The baluster form is one of the most enduring shapes in the Royal Delft repertoire fitted here with a brass collar that transitions to a bespoke drum shade in fine green-and-white pinstripe fabric, finished with a solid green trim at the rim. The pairing of deep cobalt blue and fresh apple green gives the lamp a crisp, spirited presence that suits both traditional interiors and more adventurous, pattern-forward rooms.

The underside carries the printed blue semicircular De Porceleyne Fles factory label alongside the hand-painted JT, jar mark, and "Delft" in script — the dating system used by the factory since 1879. To the left of the mark are the painter's initials ; to the right, the year code CX, confirming production in 1979. Newly wired with a fabric wrapped twisted navy cord.
