Pierre Gustave Adrien Ekman, known as Pierre Adrien Ekman, was a French painter, decorator and writer, born September 7, 1904 in Moisson and died September 12, 1993 in Peille.

In 1928, as a painter, he collaborated on the illustrations for a new edition of Contes de Perrault, the tercentenary edition of 33 engravers.

In January 1930, he participated in the exhibition of book decorators and illustrators held at the Cercle de la Librairie in Paris, where his presence was welcomed5.

In 1947, he illustrated a reprint of Charles Baudelaire's novel Les Peintures condemnes.

In 1983, he was responsible for restoring frescoes dating from 1526, signed by Andrea de Cella, in the Notre-Dame del Bosc chapel, route de La Roquette-sur-Var, overlooking the mooring of the ferry linking Saint-Martin to Gilette . .
His reputation as a painter remains more confidential.
Best known for his graphic work, sometimes inspired by fantasy and reminiscent in certain ways of the work of Dali, he created numerous decorative works on various media, some of which were transformed into tapestries.

During his career, he collaborated with the decorator René Drouet on furniture and interiors, notably a hexagonal room decorated with views of Tuscany, framed by curtains, which appeared in an edition of Les Décorateurs from the 1940s. He also worked on theater sets and collaborates with great cabinetmakers, notably Dunand.

In the spring of 1935, he participated in the Salon of Decorative Artists held at the Grand Palais in Paris. A room created in collaboration with René Prou, composed of rattan beds and light-colored braid, with fine muslin curtains, was exhibited, seducing visitors with its fresh harmony. He also presented a decorative panel of his own design, described as “spiritually designed and delicately united in its chords of gray”.
