Mid-century Murano sommerso diamond-shaped ashtray / vide poche by Flavio Poli for Seguso (Murano, Italy, 1960s). Made of thick blue, yellow/orange and clear glass. It is extremely decorative. Can be used as a display piece on any table. Height: 6.5 cm / 2.6''; length: 13 cm / 5.1''; width: 13 cm / 5.1''. It is in perfect condition.

"Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
