Piero Lissoni Mex Cube Sofa For Cassina A flexible design sofa whose minimalist proportions were crafted to fit comfortably with any interior decor style, thanks to the variety of pieces and many possible arrangements. Mex Cube is the intuition that turned into a project. A graceful succession of variations on a theme, in which each shape is purposely designed to keep pace with the rhythms of daily life and conversation. The comfortably padded and upholstered individual cubes invite experimentation with different arrangements – from the stand-alone or corner sofa to the sofa with island or face-to-face seating – with different sizes and functions. CUSHION PADDING Polyester fiber batting or goose down. BASE STRUCTURE Square tubular steel painted black. Simple and flexible volumes, minimal and versatile, designed to adapt to many contexts, thanks to the many elements and configurations available. Mex Cube is an idea that became a design, a dynamic and creative system, open to multiple interpretations and addressing multiple requirements, while being easy to assemble and arrange at will. These independent cubes, available in two widths, backs and arms optional, can be configured as corner units, in linear form, as an island, or in a face-to-face layout. Characterised by extremely comfortable padding, with easy-to-remove covers in leather or fabric, the outcome being a harmonious picture of variations on a theme, where each shape has been designed to enhance everyday activities and the rhythm of conversation. About the Creator

Piero Lissoni

Born in 1956 in Brianza, Italian designer and architect Piero Lissoni studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, graduating in 1985. Together with his longtime partner Nicoletta Canesi, Lissoni founded Studio Lissoni (later renamed Lissoni Associati) in 1986, and the pair cofounded Graph.x in 1996 to focus on graphics projects.

Based in Milan, Lissoni is known for its clean, modern, industrial aesthetic. Lissoni Associati works in all areas of design, including industrial design, art direction, architecture, luxury hotels (notably the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam), showrooms (Cassina in London , Boffi in Milan and New York), corporate headquarters, boats, and private residences. The Lissoni name is perhaps best known, however, for prolific modern designs in furniture, kitchen systems, and housewares. The studio collaborates with some of the world’s most famous brands, including Kartell, Knoll, Flos, Boffi, and Alessi, among others.
