ADVICE FOR A SAFE AND VALUABLE PURCHASE
As "a unique work", even an original and authorized graphic artwork must always be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the publisher authorized to print it.
This is the only way to be sure of buying an original work of quality and value.
The numbering must always be present and the P.A. artist's proofs (often countless and undefined) should be in limited number and declared.
The most serious publishers, in fact, number even the artist's proofs ...

BIOGRAPHY
Mario Schifano (Homs, September 20, 1934 - Rome, January 26, 1998). Considered by many the leading exponent of Italian pop art, is considered the heir of Andy Warhol. Remains memorable his exhibitions with the creation of paintings of huge dimensions made with enamel and acrylics. Many of his works, the so-called "monochromes", have only one or two colors, applied on wrapping paper glued on canvas. The influence of Jasper Johns can be seen in the use of numbers or isolated letters of the alphabet, but in his way of painting analogies can be traced with the work of Robert Rauschenberg. In a 1960 painting, one can read the word "no" painted with drips of color in large capital letters, as in a graffiti mural. Even today, the works created in the sixties remain incredibly topical. Among the most important are the series dedicated to advertising brands, bicycles, flowers and nature in general. Passionate scholar of new painting techniques, is among the first to use the computer to create works, managing to process images and bring them back on canvas emulsified. The prolificity of the author, and the apparent simplicity of his works, has led to the creation of an impressive number of fakes that have flooded the markets, especially after his death. Passionate about cycling, he designed the pink jersey twice. He died at 64 years old, after a life of excesses and intemperance: he experienced prison, because of drugs, the asylum, and attempted suicide.
