Stately desk designed by Torbjørn Afdal (1917-1999) for Bruksbo, Norway in the 1960s. This desk is made of beautiful dark hardwood. Torbjorn Afdal was one of Norway's most famous furniture designers. After graduating, he started his career as a designer at Bruksbo and was soon promoted to head designer. For three decades, Bruksbo was one of the leading design firms for quality furniture in Norway. In the 1960s, the majority of Norwegian furniture exports were even designed by Bruksbo. Torbjørn Afdal's work is mainly characterized by minimalism, where the material and its mountings or connections are the striking design element. His work is of high quality, and that has not gone unnoticed. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and the Japanese Emperor were among the buyers of his designs.
