Vintage Design

This iconic lamp, designed by Ignazio Gardella in the 1950s for Azucena, is characterised by a striking combination of black-painted metal and brass, with two pressed-glass elements ingeniously held together by curved brass clips. The triangular brass mounting plates bear the Azucena stamp on the reverse. This incredibly refined and still extraordinarily modern mid-century design showcases the work of one of the most influential Italian architects of the era. Azucena was one of Italy’s most innovative lighting design companies of the mid-century, and its designs have long been sought after by the most discerning collectors.
