About This Piece

Vintage Design

Antique seven-drawer chest, traditionally made in France in the 19th century. Beautiful marquetry of various woods adorns the three sides and the legs. The marquetry features mahogany, rosewood, and fruitwood.
The top is marble, a light, slightly pinkish beige with brown veins.
Each drawer is fitted with two solid bronze handles in the form of draped crowns and a gilt keyhole escutcheon with ribbon laurel leaf motifs.
The base is in the Louis XVI style, with tapered legs in the form of small square columns.
