Lola Vitelli, Riflessi, Mixed Media with Gold and Silver Leaf on Canvas, 2020

Riflessi is a refined mixed-media work by Italian artist Lola Vitelli, whose artistic language moves between instinctive gesture, material experimentation and symbolic expression.

In this composition, the canvas becomes a tactile surface shaped by incised marks and layered materials. Gold leaf appears to emerge from the cuts and traces impressed into the work, suggesting a vital energy seeking its own space and radiating beyond the surface. The luminous gold elements interact with the silver leaf background, creating shifting reflections and a sophisticated dialogue between light, texture and depth.

The contrast between gold and silver gives the work a strong visual identity, while the engraved and material qualities of the surface reveal Vitelli's distinctive approach to painting, conceived not only as colour but almost as a sculptural process.

Despite its more intimate dimensions, Riflessi retains the emotional and symbolic intensity characteristic of Lola Vitelli's work. Its luminous surfaces change subtly according to the surrounding light, giving the composition a dynamic and continually evolving presence.
