About This Piece

Vintage Design

Poul Hundevad began his career as an apprentice cabinetmaker at a furniture manufacturer in Copenhagen. After completing his apprenticeship, he worked for several Danish furniture companies before founding his own business in 1947. The company specialized in the production of teak furniture, which was very popular in Denmark at the time.
During the 1950s and 1960s, Hundevad's designs became widely popular, not only in Denmark but also abroad. Today, his furniture is considered a classic of Danish design and is highly sought after by collectors and antique furniture enthusiasts.
