About This Piece

Vintage Design

A large and sculptural antique figural tobacco jar by the esteemed German porcelain manufacturer Conta & Boehme.

Modelled as a theatrical jester seated upon a drum and accompanied by a cat, this finely detailed porcelain piece combines humour, character, and strong decorative presence.

The hand-painted costume, expressive facial features and drum-form tobacco compartment reflect the craftsmanship associated with late 19th-century Thuringian porcelain production.

At 25 cm in height and weighing 1.6 kg, this is a substantial example, suitable for collectors or as a focal decorative object in an interior setting.

Condition

Good antique condition with minor age-related wear. Structurally sound.
