Original key and lock.

Tge cabinet made of solid larch and black walnut. It was absolutely ahead of its time, as it was mid-century design in 1928.
The cabinet was treated with oil in several layers.
The grain of the larch is even more spectacular after the oil treatment, it attracts the eye.
Beautiful Scandinavian design from an Austrian designer in 1928.

Kunst und Wohnung, R. Lorenz was founded in 1919 and is located at Josefstädter Straße 21 in Vienna. Besides Rudolf Lorenz, Samuel Goldfarb and Oskar Reichel were managing directors and partners. KUWO or Lorenz Möbel, also known as art director by architect Hugo Gorge and employee of the Wiener Werkstätte, was mainly involved in the production, procurement and distribution of furniture, as well as all kinds of decorative arts and home furnishings. The company, which changed in 1934, was located in Seilergasse 7, the first district of Vienna, and had a branch in the neighboring Plankengasse. At the end of 1937, Oskar Reichel's son Raimund (1904-1997) was appointed managing director and the name of the company changed to Kunst und Wohnung, Lorenz & Reichel Gesm.bH. A year later, the Nazi authorities blocked the company and then liquidated it. The company was finally deleted from the company register in May 1942.
