Rebecca Uth's Hurricane was inspired by antique kerosene lamps, in which a tall cylinder of glass both spreads light and protects the flame from its surroundings. Hurricane can add evocative light to summer nights on balconies and terraces or light up cozy moments indoors. Its spacious interior allows a candle to burn with a steady flame, regardless of whether it has been placed indoors or out. Hurricane is mouth blown in a quality, light glass. As a result of this delicate technique, each piece is unique, and smaller air bubbles might appear in the crystal glass and the intensity in color may vary slightly. Beyond its role as a lantern, Hurricane may also be used as a flower vase; according to the designer, in fact, it works beautifully for large bouquets and long-stemmed flowers and branches.
