Highboard in Ash by Franz Ehrlich for Hellerau, 1959

This living room cabinet from the 602 series is far more than just a piece of furniture – it's a significant fragment of German design history. It was designed by Franz Ehrlich, an influential Bauhaus student and resistance fighter whose style profoundly shaped the architecture and furniture design of the early GDR. Manufactured in the renowned Hellerau workshops, the 602 series represents the perfect symbiosis of functional practicality and handcrafted aesthetics.
