About This Piece

Vintage Design

This rare and elegant pair of Royal Delft candlesticks, produced by De Porceleyne Fles in 1988, showcases the mastery of Delft Blue craftsmanship. Each candlestick is meticulously hand-painted by master painter H. van Leeuwen, reflecting the exquisite detail and artistry that Royal Delft has maintained for centuries. These candlesticks are especially notable as candlesticks are a rarity in the Delft tradition, making them highly collectible pieces.

Historically, Delftware production focused on popular items like plates, vases, and tiles, leaving candlesticks as less common creations. The production of these candlesticks offers collectors an opportunity to own a piece that blends timeless Dutch artistry with a rare form. Perfect as decorative accents, they bring a refined touch to any interior and are particularly suited to seasonal settings, adding elegance to holiday tables or festive décor.

In excellent condition, both candlesticks come in Royal Delft gift boxes. The year code “DH” confirms their production in 1988, marking them as valuable additions to any serious Delftware collection.
