German Biedermeier Gondola Chairs, 1820, Set of 4

A well-proportioned set of four German Biedermeier gondola chairs dating to around 1820. The chairs show the characteristic clarity of the Biedermeier period with restrained lines, gently curved backrests and balanced proportions. Their elegant silhouette and open arm design create a light, architectural presence while remaining comfortable and practical for everyday use.

The chairs have been professionally restored in our workshop and are structurally solid. Surfaces have been carefully refreshed and hand-polished while preserving the historic character and original substance. The seats have been newly upholstered and covered with a high-quality striped fabric that complements the period and provides a strong visual contrast to the warm-toned wood.

The seat cushions are removable, allowing easy future reupholstery if desired. The set works equally well as dining chairs or as accent seating in a refined interior. Overall very good restored condition with minor signs of age consistent with period and careful restoration.
