About This Piece

Vintage Design

The Denbac soliflore vase in stoneware ceramic, emblematic of the Art Deco style of the 1920s, bears witness to the heritage of René Denert, who founded his workshop in Vierzon in 1908. The latter, strong in the ceramic activity which has flourished in the town since the beginning of the 19th century, developed a company which evolved after the arrival of René Louis Balichon in 1910, to become the company Denert et Balichon in 1921. The production of the workshop is diversifying, offering a wide range of vases and decorative stoneware objects under the Denbac brand. However, after Denert's death in 1937, the activity declined and, despite a timid recovery after the Second World War, the company ended its production in 1952, leaving behind a rich ceramic heritage appreciated by collectors.
