About This Piece

Vintage Design

An elegant pair of Empire-style armchairs, crafted in the early 19th century, featuring a stately silhouette and refined gilded bronze decoration. The wooden frame features clean, rigorous lines, typical of neoclassical style, embellished with finely chiseled and mercury-gilded bronze appliqués. The armrests are supported by classically styled winged figures, while the front legs are adorned with zoomorphic elements with outstretched wings, a detail with a strong visual and symbolic impact.The seat and backrest are upholstered in gold-colored damask fabric with garland and laurel wreath motifs, perfectly in keeping with the celebratory aesthetic of the Imperial era. These are highly elegant and impressive furnishings.
