Vintage Design

The lamp comes from the original furnishings of the Esplanad cinema in Stockholm, which opened in 1942. It is most likely a special production for the cinema, which was designed by the architect Ernst Grönwall. The floral elements, the central perforated brass bell and the reddish-brown silk shade create a wonderful light. The wiring of the lamp has been renewed, but the lamp has otherwise been intentionally left in its original condition. According to its age, it is in very nice condition, but of course it shows fine signs of use. The shade has some stains and a fine, approx. 5mm long rip, which can only be seen on closer inspection and mainly when the lamp is switched off (see pictures 9 and 10).
