About This Piece

Ancient painting, watercolor on paper, 19th century, Carlo Prayer A refined painting depicting a couple with child on a boat on a lake. The painting is made up of an infinite number of small details, rendered with great skill by the painter Carlo Prayer, an exponent of the "Grey" school of the 19th century Liguria. The paper on which it is painted shows the date, 29 July 1869, on the bottom right of the back, and the payment received of 20 lire. On the front, at the bottom left, there are the painter's authenticity stamps thanks to which it was possible to trace the authorship of the work as the signature at the bottom right was placed in a later period. The work is in excellent conservation conditions, the paper is placed on an ancient wooden table and is embellished with a contemporary frame. Dimensions of the work, excluding frame: 22x17 cm
