Bentwood Bar Stools from Ton, 1960s, Set of 6

A beautiful set of six vintage high bar stools, crafted in the 1960s by TON in Czechoslovakia, following the original Thonet No. 73 bentwood design. Made of beautifully curved bent beechwood, these iconic backless stools showcase the timeless elegance and flowing lines that made Thonet’s bentwood furniture world-famous.
Each stool features a round upholstered seat and a dark wood stain, complemented by the distinctive construction where eight graceful bentwood joints connect the seat to the legs. These sculptural curves not only enhance the aesthetic but also demonstrate the exceptional craftsmanship and technical mastery behind TON’s solid-wood bending tradition.
This set was previously used in a hotel bar setting, the stools retain a light, authentic vintage patina, adding depth and character. They have been partially restored to ensure stability and beauty while preserving their original charm. The original upholstery is in very good condition, showing only minor signs of use.
