About This Piece

Vintage Design

This unused 'Palais Stoclet' carpet, made from wool, was designed by Josef Hoffmann around the turn of the Century for Backhausen. The carpet was produced in the 1970s on a motor from the now disbanded Hoheneich factory after Backhausen was sold to an investment group.
