About This Piece

Vintage Design

An original Art Deco lounge chair from the 1930s, re-upholstered in an ivory-toned fabric that highlights the sculptural quality of its form. The frame is crafted from stained solid mahagony, offering a rich, dark contrast to the light upholstery and emphasizing the chair’s balanced proportions. The curved armrests provide a fluid visual line and enhance comfort, while a subtle carved detail at the top of each arm adds a refined decorative element. The front legs are particularly striking, featuring a distinctive design that reflects the geometric elegance typical of the period.

The interplay between the warm, darker wood tone and the soft ivory upholstery creates a strong yet harmonious contrast, lending the piece versatility in both contemporary and classic interiors. Generously proportioned and structurally sound, the chair offers a high level of comfort without compromising its architectural integrity. It remains a strong example of 1930s craftsmanship and Frenh Art Deco aesthetics.
