Antique early-20th Century Imperial Russian silver-gilt & guilloche enamel cigarette case, rectangular form with rounded corners, body enameled in translucent purple over a engine-turned ground, the gold thumb piece mounted with finally set sapphire cabochon.

Both sides Hallmarked Russian silver 88 (916 standard), St-Petersburg, year 1908-1917, Maker's mark in Cyrillic; Britzin (Founded in 1860, the workshop of Ivan Britain was considered to be one of Fabergé's greatest competitors in the production of enameled wares)
