Vintage Design

A beautiful quality set of twelve antique mahogany shield back dining chairs comprising ten single dining chairs and two matching carver armchairs, this elegant suite is crafted from beautifully figured solid mahogany and features finely shaped shield backs with delicate pierced splats and attractive carved wheat ear cresting.
The graceful shield back design is one of the most enduring and desirable styles, with elegant sweeping lines and refined proportions that suit both traditional and contemporary interiors. The shaped arms on the carver chairs are particularly elegant, while the chairs stand on stylish square tapering legs terminating in spade feet.
The generously proportioned drop-in seats are upholstered in a smart blue patterned fabric which remains clean and serviceable. The chairs are of sturdy construction with solid joints throughout and are comfortable for everyday dining as well as formal entertaining.
A superb quality matching set that would make an impressive statement around a large dining table.
Condition
The chairs are in good antique condition with a lovely rich mahogany colour and patina. They are solid and sturdy with tight joints throughout. The upholstery is clean and presentable with only light age-related wear to the timber consistent with age and use.
