About This Piece

Vintage Design

A romantic 19th-century French linen table set comprising two damask tablecloths and seventeen generously sized monogrammed napkins — a rare survival from an old trousseau ("Aussteuer") collection.
The napkins each measure approximately 70 x 74 cm, offering ample coverage for a classically set table. They are complemented by two tablecloths in different sizes: approximately 2.80 x 1.68 m and 2.10 x 1.68 m, suited to larger dining tables or varying table sizes.
Each piece is embroidered with a red monogram, adding an individual, romantic touch and reflecting the characteristic charm of 19th-century French household linen. The subtle damask weave creates a refined play of sheen across the fabric. Decades of gentle use and washing have left the linen exceptionally soft and supple, so it drapes beautifully on the table.
Condition: pre-owned/used, with some flaws consistent with age and prior use (please refer to accompanying condition photos).
Color: off-white / ecru
Material: linen
Origin: France
Period: 19th century
